Bill Terry

Terry was only 21 years old when he accepted the head basketball position at Central High School in 1956 and 30 years later his legacy was completed. His teams went 332-143 with 8 County Championships, 3 Runners-up in the county and a host of tournament and area championships. Included in his total were nine 20 plus win seasons with '58-'59 team going 28-3 and his '63-'64 team finishing 29-1. Terry only had 1 losing season in 17 years and was a "gentleman" in the truest sense of the word. In 1964 he claimed the Birmingham Post herald 3A Coach of the Year Award.
