Ronald Gale Thompson
Was team's leading scorer from the seventh grade through his senior season. Helped eighth and ninth grade teams get to the county championships and was team's MVP as a freshman. Averaged 18 points and seven rebounds a game to lead Central High School to the county B- Team title and a 21-2 overall record. Led Central to a 29-4 record as a junior, with team winning several tournaments including county, area and region events. Team advanced to 3A state tournament, and he averaged 17 points and six assists a game. As a senior, he averaged 18 points and six assists per game to lead the Wildcats to a 28-6 record and second place in the state tournament. He was chosen All-County, All-Area, All-State, TimesDaily Player of the Year and to two state All-Star games. Played two seasons at Northwest-Shoals Community College where he averaged 24 points per game in his second season and earned All-State honors.
