Hayden Riley 

A native of Guin, Riley was a recognized name at the University of Ala­bama in several sports and con­sidered a main figure in Bear Bryant's atheltic department.   He was head football and bas­ketball coach as well as assis­tant principal at Coffee High School.  He coached the 1951 Coffee state championship foothall team, and his basket­ball teams made it to the state frnals in seven of his 10 seasons as coach.  He coached the North squad in the 1957 state All-Star high school basketball game.  He later served as head base­ball and basketball coach at the University of Alabama. He was also Assistant Ath­letic Director at Alabama under Bryant, and later served as commissioner of the Gulf South Conference. As a player, he played football, basketball, and baseball collegiately.
