Laura Jo McFall

Played basketball and softball in 1989 and 1990 at Wilson High School.  She was on the state championship team in 1989 and runner up team in 1990.  In softball she was named to the All-County and All-Area teams.   She accepted a scholarship to play softball and run on the cross country team at UNA.  She made the All- Academic GSC teams in 1992 and 1994.  She began her coaching career in 1995 at Wilson High School as the assistant girls’ basketball coach.  She implemented the first Cross Country team at Wilson High School in 1999.  She began coaching softball in 1998.  Her overall record is 404-162-1 in 13 years.  Her teams have won 6 county championships and 6 4A area championships; made appearances in 10 4A sub-state, 6 state playoffs, Final Four in 2004 and State Runner Up in 2018.  She has been named Times Daily Coach of the Year 7 years and Alabama Sports Writers 4A Coach of the Year in 2004.  She has coached in the ASHAA North South All-Star game and served on the AHSAA District Softball Committee.  She helped implement the first 7th and 8th grade softball program in Lauderdale County.
