Ron Toner

Was among the standouts during perhaps the best four-year period in Lexington football history, a stretch that produced a 38-9 record. Helped the Bears to the state quarterfinals as a freshman by rushing for 686 yards on 60 carries, including 221 yards on eight carries in the area championship game against Hazlewood. Helped team to state quarterfinals as sophomore (523 rushing yards, 362 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, earning All-Area and Second Team All-State). As junior, rushed for 1,100 yards and 19 touchdowns, earning All-County, All-Area and All-State honors. In senior season, rushed for 1,300 yards on 134 carries and scored 23 touchdowns. Named All-County, All-Area, All-State and TimesDaily Co-MVP with Hazlewood’s Kerry Goode. Signed with Alabama to play football. Qualified for the state track meet in the 100-yard dash, finishing fourth as a sophomore and junior. Also qualified for state shot put and 440 relay team. Lettered three years on Lexington’s baseball and basketball teams.
