Samuel Lee Prater

A football standout at Coffee 1975-1977.  In 1977 Prater was first team All-State, Most Outstanding Lineman (A.C. Curry Memorial Award), and was a member of the Alabama All Star High School Football Team.  In 1978 he played second team nose guard for the University of Tennessee.  He transferred to UNA and played inside linebacker in 1980 and 1981.  He made All Gulf South Conference team both years.  He is a member of UNA Team of the Decade and 50th Anniversary Team.  He was a free agent with the Denver Broncos in 1982.  He was a LA Oakland Raider in 1983 and finished his professional career in 1985 with the USFL Oklahoma Outlaws.
