He played three sports at LCHS. He also played football at ltwamba Junior College and later in the semi-pro ranks for nine ears. He established the first youth football program in the Killen community. He has served as president of the Brooks Youth Football organization and booster club, and coached youth baseball and football for five years. He was the "Voice of the Lions" for 35 years as the public address announcer, the longest tenure in the county.
